Get ready for the Java 9 release this September!

Join Venkat Subramaniam and Simon Ritter for a webinar exploring the new features in JDK 9 targeted at developers, making the job of Java coding easier.

We’ll start with Venkat discussing JShell—The REPL for Java Developers

Many languages have REPL and it’s great to see Java finally have its own execution shell. In this part of the presentation learn the benefits of JShell and how to use it for micro-prototyping and to improve your agility when programming with Java 9.

Next, Simon will explore some unexpected Java 9 changes

Simon will discuss what’s changed in JDK 9 around the Java language and core class libraries. Although the big new feature in JDK 9 is the Java Platform Module System, there are a number of great new APIs and little language changes being added to Java 9 as well. We’ll look at improvements to the streams API, new concurrency APIs and how Project Coin got milled, including why you can no longer use a single underscore as a variable name anymore (of course, you never did that, did you?)
