ZeroTurnaround Shifts to Open Source Hardware

Hi folks,

Jevgeni Kabanov here, CEO & Founder of ZeroTurnaround.

The world changes every day, so to be a successful company your business needs to adapt to the world it is in. As a result, ZeroTurnaround would like to make the following announcement outlining our new company strategy and goals going forward as a successful business.

In the past, we have been able to capture the developer market with JRebel as well as provide a great product in the Operations space with LiveRebel. While this is great for revenue, it has never quite satisfied our ambitions.

Today, we’d like to announce an entirely new venture for us – we are launching a new hardware line of products under code-name “GRM2 ™”. This has not been an easy decision for us as it means a significant shift of company strategy, but we could not find a better way to satisfy our mission of helping the software to eat the world faster.

JRebel and LiveRebel have gone a long way to making the IT-shops more productive, but some of the key inefficiencies exist in the organizational methodology and we believe that “GRM2 ™” will help us solve those issues.

ZeroTurnaround have been a long-time supporter of Open Source, with our contributions to numerous Open Source projects, so it is with great pleasure that I announce that we are releasing the company as Open Source. The GitHub repository includes all information about the “GRM2 ™” project as well as most other materials that anyone could need to build a company like ZeroTurnaround. We will continue releasing materials over the course of the next few months to make it easier to fork and contribute to the company.

I had the pleasure of being interviewed by the WWN in this exclusive interview that details this shift in company strategy.

Hoping for a better world for everyone,

Jevgeni Kabanov
